Here's Our Sign

We hung the sign.
(See that post here.)
That's Above the salvaged tool bench
that's now our wine bar.
I made the sign and brought it here because we always say...
"It's Wonderful To Be Back" every time
we arrive in North Carolina.
(See how I made the sign HERE.)

It's Wonderful To Be Back!

October in North Carolina... wouldn't miss it!
We always say this when we get here,
so I made a sign. It's a quote from Nelson DeMille's

Wine Cork Message board

I found this message board at a thrift store for $1.00.  I did a touch-up of blackboard paint on the bottom and glued wine corks on the top. Quick and easy, with no skills required.
Fits on the little wall space by the laundry door.
Welcome To North Carolina! Relax and Enjoy!

What To Do With Leftover Plywood

There was a big cut out oval piece of plywood leftover from our bathtub installation. Well, I was not going to throw it out!  I'll use it for a project!  We made a template of a black bear, using the outline from the metal accessories in the bathroom as a guide. Made it as big as the plywood. Cut it out, sand it, several coats of black paint, a mounting bar in the back, and it's wall art! Motto: never throw anything out.

Black Bear Tile Coasters

Make your own coasters. Trace an outline of a black bear on a leftover piece of tumbled stone tile. Fill in with black paint pen. Cut a piece of cork contact paper for the back. Here's my set on the wine bar.
